Our Founders

A message from our Leaders

Hi, we are Jörg and Hendrik, the founders of PlanET Biogas Group GmbH. We met while in university and quickly realized that we shared many views. After our studies, we decided to find a way to utilize organic waste. The combination of climate protection and economic savings has been particularly important to us. So, we started with the first plant on our parents’ farm. After testing our first constructions in the garage in 1998, things moved quickly. Together, we started PlanET, which has consistently seen growth ever since.

We currently have branches in France, Canada, the USA and Brazil. We also employ over 350 people around the world, and together, have built over 650 digester plants. The awards we received for our work in 2006 and 2012 are great achievements and continue to provide motivation.

Hendrik’s brother Roland has also been part of our team since its inception. He acted as an authorized signatory and was responsible for all commercial departments. In 2020, he became a member of the board. As a trio, we look forward to the future with great joy.
